Vegan Sour Milk is A LOT easier than you would think.
If a recipe calls for buttermilk or sour milk, you can easily make your own with a plant based, non dairy milk! I prefer to make my own, for a couple of reasons.

It helps keep my pantry more simple, I only have to have two ingredients in the cupboard, that I have 99% of the time anyway.
Vegan Milk – I usually have Earth’s Own Barista Oat Milk (the creamiest, most frothable oat milk made by an amazing Canadian company) for my morning coffee and an almond milk for smoothies and baking.
If I don’t have to fill the fridge or pantry with an additional container of buttermilk, I can keep my food storage spaces minimal.
Vegan Sour Milk
1 tbsp white vinegar
1 cup of dairy free milk (like homemade almond milk)
1. Mix the vinegar and milk together in a liquid measuring cup.
2. Let the mixture sit for about 10 minutes, until combined and you may see the milk start to separate.
*This recipe could also be used with dairy milk if your preference of milk is animal based for baking recipes.
